Shichi-Go-San : Celebrating Growth and Tradition

What a joy and privilege it was to photograph this lovely family celebrating the beautiful Japanese rite of passage, Shichi-Go-San (Seven-Five-Three).

For those unfamiliar, Shichi-Go-San is celebrated every November to honour the health and continued happiness of young children. It is a time for families to visit a shrine to give thanks and pray for their children’s bright futures—specifically for girls at ages three and seven, and for boys at age five.

Seeing little ones dressed in their traditional, vibrant kimono added such a profound sense of tradition and elegance to the session. Watching them embrace their cultural heritage on this milestone day makes it truly unforgettable.

Thank you for trusting me to document this day. I am truly grateful to be part of such meaningful milestones. These images will serve as a cherished reminder of their growth, their culture, and their beautiful family bond for years to come.
